Overview
Space1999 is one of the leading music distribution companies in Italy, with a solid reputation built over more than 25 years of activity. On the occasion of this important anniversary, we were given the task of designing the poster and invitation for the party event organized within the prestigious Pop Mid Expo in Portugal.
This special event was not only a celebration of the company’s journey, but also an opportunity to strengthen its brand internationally, emphasizing Space1999’s key role in the global music scene.
Concept
Our starting point was an in-depth analysis of Space1999’s logo, a distinctive element based on the golden progression, a harmonic sequence representing balance and perfection. Recognizing the symbolic importance of this design, we decided to exploit the graphic potential of the squares that make up the logo, breaking them down and reassembling them in a new configuration.
This choice was not only aesthetic, but also conceptual: the progression of the squares reflected the idea of continuous growth and expansion, a theme that well represented Space1999’s 25 years of development and innovation in the music industry. Each square in our concept symbolized an evolutionary phase of the company, from its beginnings to its current leadership position.
Graphic Design
The poster was conceived as a high-impact graphic expression based on the principles of typographic modernism. We opted for a minimalist, but powerful and evocative design in which typography plays a central role. The modernist approach, with its clean lines and focus on order and clarity, perfectly reflects the values of Space1999, a company that has combined innovation and tradition throughout its history.
We maintained the company’s institutional color palette, using black and orange, colors that not only ensure visual consistency with Space1999’s identity but also convey a sense of energy and authority. Black symbolizes elegance and solidity, while orange evokes vitality and creativity, two fundamental aspects of the company.
In addition to the poster and invitation, the visual identity was also applied to promotional items such as t-shirts and beer cans, reflecting the brand’s distinctive design and concept of progression. These items not only served as tangible reminders of the event but also reinforced Space1999’s branding, conveying the company’s image and confirming its role as a leader in the music distribution industry.
